Inspiration
A New PATH was inspired by the idea that meaningful environmental change can begin with a single, simple habit: choosing a reusable bottle over a disposable one. I wanted to capture the emotional weight of small decisions—how one choice ripples outward into a better future. PATH Water’s brand message around sustainability, refill culture, and personal impact provided the perfect narrative backbone for a short, cinematic commercial that feels hopeful rather than preachy.
What it does
The piece follows everyday people making a conscious choice to switch from single-use plastics to a reusable aluminum PATH bottle. Through quick vignettes and visual metaphors—light beams, footsteps, flowing water—the commercial reinforces that each refill represents a step toward a cleaner planet. It delivers PATH Water’s message in a way that feels uplifting, modern, and visually striking: “One choice can change your path.”
How we built it
The visuals were created using AI image and video-generation tools including OpenArt and Kling, which provided dynamic transitions, stylized environments, and clean lifestyle imagery. Adobe Premiere Pro was used for editing, pacing, rhythmic cuts, and integrating the product shots. Adobe After Effects handled cleanup, subtle motion design, color unification, and product enhancement to match a high-end commercial aesthetic. Sound design and music timing were shaped to reinforce the inspirational tone of the piece.
Challenges we ran into
Achieving consistent product shots was one of the biggest challenges—AI models often distort labels, bottle geometry, or reflections, so several generations and cleanups were required. Another challenge was maintaining a cohesive visual tone across scenes generated from different tools; lighting style, color temperature, and human anatomy needed extensive refinement. Balancing realism with stylization was also a key challenge, as the images had to feel aspirational yet grounded. Ensuring the brand’s message came through clearly in under a minute required careful pacing and shot selection.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of how polished and cinematic the final commercial feels. The PATH bottle reads clearly and consistently, the transitions feel purposeful, and the emotional tone communicates sustainability in a way that is hopeful rather than heavy-handed. The final sequence—where individual choices merge into a collective “path forward”—successfully delivers the core message in a visually memorable way.
What we learned
This project taught us how sensitive AI models are when rendering branded objects and logos, and how much manual refinement is needed to maintain commercial-quality consistency. We also learned how effective minimalistic storytelling can be in a brand piece—simple imagery, clean design, and purposeful pacing can communicate just as powerfully as complex visuals. The project reinforced the importance of color grade and editorial rhythm in unifying multiple AI generations.
What's next for "A New Path"
There’s potential to expand this concept into a full series of short commercials exploring different “paths” people take toward sustainability—athletes, travelers, students, families, hikers, and more. Future installments may incorporate more advanced motion control, smoother AI-driven product cinematics, and additional lifestyle moments tied to refill culture. A longer, narrative-driven brand film is also a natural next step.
