Inspiration
- Corona crisis is a challenge for we all. I have one child who is 3th class in Germany. His IQ is over average and even before this crisis he was unhappy with his Mathe classes: are under his level. He loves the intellectual challenges. Unfortunately we don't have good primary schools in our region (an area of 50km). Now is worse: no online school, no video meetings with his classmates. But until now we haven't changed the school because he has good friends there and some good teachers (for French, Music or Dance, etc).
- So, I had an idea: how it will be if we will change in the future (starting right now) the EU educational model for the primary and high-school students/pupils? Allowing the children to build their own scholarship ''package'', a personalized combination between online classes (free chosen, worldwide) and presence in real-school for all classes which required human interaction: team games, sport, experiments, art, theater, dance, team-plays, etc. All in concordance with the national curriculum, respecting the number of hours for each classes.
What it does
- How it works?:
the e-learning part. The pupils will learn online from home or from special authorized center (like schools or libraries from their neighborhood). They could chose for example for one semester to learn Mathematics with one school from one country and in the next semester to fallow the e-learning classes with another school. They are free to fallow in parallel, different programs, schools, teachers, countries, projects. Of course, only if the program/school/curse is authorized and recognized by the Education minister from its country. This model is inspired by the Erasmus program for students. But is online and much more flexible: the children under 18 years old are safe (at home with their families)
the real school experience is also flexible: the children choose the classes, teachers and hours from the local offer. They could make any combination, as long as they accomplished the necessary number of hours and lessons, respecting the national curricula. It's inspired also from the Finnish educational model and university model and the result is a complete new educational concept, personalized for each pupil, in concordance with his/her talent, motivations, interests.
Results/advantages:
- an international new generation, more tolerant for other mentalities and people
- is a win for the high-skilled children but also for children with disabilities, who have the possibility to find special lessons/classes in all EU, adapted to their level. They will have not anymore limit to education and will have equal chances to education
- children will have an education based on aptitude and interests
- developing the ability to work and learn based on projects
- networking and making friends and contacts worldwide
- less hours of physical presence at school by day and week
- an educational model based also on ''Acherner Model'' (Achern, Germany, Kunst Gymnasium/ the Achern art high-school)
