Inspiration
Our project was heavily inspired by the chaotic evil prompt and by ChatGPT. We also really wanted to learn more about machine learning using the co:here API.
What it does
The user can converse with a Shakespearian chatbot, which throws Shakespearian insults to the user based on what the user wrote. If the user is "feeling brave", they click a button which will generate a custom Shakespearian insult.
How we built it
We used the co:here API to train our chatbot to output different types of insults based on what kind of message the user sends in. If the user personally insults Shakespeare, the chatbot will return with a particularly offensive line.
Challenges we ran into
Learning to use co:here API and applying it our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having successfully completed what we set out to do for our project.
What we learned
We learnt more about web development (specifically back-end development) and using a new API.
What's next for A Midsummer Night's Hack
We can try to enhance the design of the website and collect more data to train the machine learning better and make better predictions. Additionally, we can try to make the chatbot more interactive where you can have a longer conversation.
