Inspiration
I was trying to make something that relates to the theme of a Greek Goddess. Through my research I learned about Iris who is a Greek Goddess that is the Messenger of the Olympian Gods, and decided to make a game where you fly through the sky.
What it does
You control Iris, the Greek Goddess who is the Messenger of the Olympian Gods. Your goal is to get as many letters as you can while also avoiding spiky feathers that hurt you.
How I built it
I used Pygame and Python as that is the language I am the most familiar with.
Challenges I ran into
I originally wanted the feather projectiles to come from different directions but I am not mathematically competent enough yet to do that.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I managed to make a small but decent animated sprite (the player) which I had never actually done before.
What I learned
I know some Pygame but I learned how to rescale sprites which I hadn't really done before.
What's next for A Message for Heaven?
I might update its graphics and add new mechanics in the future.
