Inspiration: My inspiration for this app was that people of my generation, and of all ages really, are having problems managing nearly all aspects of their health and well-being, and I would like to change that.

What it does: A Healthy Life helps one manage every aspect of their health, based upon the four branches of health: Emotional, Social, Physical, and Mental.

How we built it: Lenovo and MIT graciously provided our school the tools, and therefore the opportunity, to participate in this amazing competition. By providing two of our academies (Engineering and Finance) with both laptop computers and yoga tablets, Lenovo assisted us in our process of creating applications. We were also supplied with the MIT App Inventor Software, where we actually built our applications.

Challenges we ran into: While we ran into many struggles along the way, the biggest one I faced was trying to develop a tiny database. The purpose of this database was to enable users to first register, then log in, so that the application remembered the logged in user's information. While this may sound simplistic, it was a very tedious process. Hard work and concentration coupled with extensive research and dedication helped solve this problem.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: I am proud of how far my idea has come. What first seemed impossible, has now been achieved. I feel that my app can make a big difference in the lives of others, which was the goal from the start.

What we learned: Through this process, I have learned that the only way to succeed in doing something is through hard work and perseverance. When you fail in programming something, or at anything in life, you can only learn from it, doing better the next time around. Adversity will always come your way, and however impossible it may seem at first, learning from it, and concentration on workable solutions will help to overcome it.

What's next for A Healthy Life? I plan to continue building on A Healthy Life, because all things have room to grow, including my knowledge of this software. The next big thing I am planning for my app is to make it more personal, suggesting more options based on paths chosen by the user. This sounds like a tedious task, but I feel that it is in the best interest of my app, as well as future users.
