Inspiration
The creative spark for this project came from a LinkedIn post by Simon Meyer, who showcased a workflow for creating stunning, ultra-realistic miniature car scenes with AI. I was fascinated by the "tilt-shift" aesthetic and the idea of a giant hand interacting with the car. This inspired me to take that visual concept and build a complete narrative around it—the story of a lifelong passion, evolving from a child's dream into a tangible reality.
What it does
"A Dream in Hand" is a fully-realized car commercial, created entirely with generative AI tools. The film tells an emotional story that follows a hand guiding a car, seamlessly transitioning it from a small toy in a child's bedroom to a full-sized G-Wagon driving through epic, scenic landscapes. It functions as a brand film that connects the client's product to the powerful, universal dream of owning your ideal car.
How we built it
Our production pipeline was 100% AI-driven, with no cameras involved:
- Image Generation: We used Seedream (via Freepik) to generate all the keyframes. This was an iterative process, requiring nearly 100 generated images to get the perfect sequence for the story.
- Video Animation: Each static image was then brought to life using Seedance, which animated the scenes with a smooth, cinematic forward motion.
- Upscaling & Polish: The final animated sequence was processed with Topaz AI to upscale it to a crisp, high-resolution video suitable for a commercial release.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest technical and creative challenge was maintaining visual consistency across dozens of generated shots. AI models often struggle with generating the same object (especially something as complex as a hand holding a car) from different angles. It took a significant amount of trial and error to produce a sequence where the hand, the car, and the environments felt like part of a single, coherent journey.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are incredibly proud of successfully telling a coherent and emotionally resonant story using only AI tools. Overcoming the notorious difficulty of generating hands interacting with objects was a major accomplishment. Most importantly, we delivered a high-quality, professional-grade commercial for a local client, proving that this technology can empower independent creators to produce work that rivals traditional, high-budget productions.
What we learned
This project taught us that AI is more than just a tool; it's a creative partner that requires guidance, experimentation, and a clear vision. We learned the importance of iteration and prompt engineering to solve complex visual problems. The biggest lesson was that the barrier to creating powerful, story-driven advertising is lower than ever, opening up new possibilities for brands of all sizes.
What's next for A Dream in Hand
While this project for Beki Cars is complete, the narrative technique of following a dream from concept to reality has immense potential. We plan to explore this storytelling format further, perhaps applying it to different products or even developing it into a longer-form narrative short film. We are excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI-driven filmmaking.
