Inspiration

Inspired by choose-your-own-adventure books and other narrative games such as "Save the Princess", "Stanley Parable" and "Depression Quest". The topic of social anxiety and how it affects our lives on a day-to-day basis is very relevant.

What it does

The game is a text-based story running in the terminal. It takes the options you choose into account and the story/endings change depending on your choices.

How we built it

Good question. First, we built our components and wrote our story. Then it was about 11 pm, and Adam got let loose on our codebase for what we'll refer to liberally as a "refactoring". It was then that we began our steady descent into madness.

2300 lines of manually written script data later with nought that could be considered testing, and we had the wonderfully inventive little project you see today. To witness our code is to stare into the eyes of a mad god, to witness an apotheosis of the mind, to question why Adam hasn't been sectioned yet.

Challenges we ran into

Adam's code (affectionate)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Adam's code (derogatory)

What we learned

Don't let Adam code (do, but make sure he's supervised)

What's next for a day like any other
