Our team a.cute triangle created a webpage/website which is helps students discover more about schools in minutes as the covid-19 pandemic has made students unable to visit the open houses of schools they aspire to study in. However, self-researching online by students can be misleading on the internet full of information. We were able to relate to the problem of not being able to find information about schools like the need to visit many websites just to find out about one school. Hence, our webpage/website will offer official information across all level of education and also review of the schools. This would be a personal project as all of us had difficulty finding schools after our primary school and secondary school and we have included many variety of information, students and parents would want to know when searching for schools in this website. Through this project we learnt resilience, being in Junior College Year 1 and making a website with little knowledge on coding we still pulled through.
Due to school, we had a 3 hour late start in the project therefore we took a little time to brainstorm ideas, and gather data. After finalizing our 3rd idea, we asked around people of different groups like our parents and friends, questions like 'what they would search for if they want to know more about a school', which definitely aided in our project, as we were able to cover a large amount of information about a lot of schools in our website. Our thinking process considered apps and bots, but a website seemed most suitable. If made into an app this wouldn't be the most viable idea, as it is mostly a targeted towards graduating students, meaning it would be of no use at other time. For a bot, you need to know what to ask but our website gives what you need, from reliable sources. After that we started out with some research on coding a webpage, and we asked some help from our seniors from which we managed to create a simple webpage. To provide a better idea on the visuals of the website, we used the google platform to showcase the idea we had in our minds.
