This project is being submitted by Soren Ghorai and Vehd Reddy. We are both students at the Eastside Preparatory school in Kirkland Washington. We used the teacher panel as an opportunity to understand what it was like for both teachers and students during online school and the transition to in-person school.

From the teacher panel, our main takeaways were that technology is a very useful tool if used correctly, although when used incorrectly it can disrupt an entire class. The internet has so much information at the touch of our fingers, but that also means much more distractions. And it is impossible for one teacher to supervise 20 students at once with current technology. Additionally, group projects and various learning formats are key to active learning. To keep students engaged, teachers must meet different learning styles, because everyone learns in a different way.

Finally, we wanted to build a community within the classroom and make everyone feel more connected. When students don't feel comfortable, they are less likely to participate, thus negatively impacting their overall learning. After considering all of these pinpoints and implementing it into our solution, we prototyped a software that allows teachers to supervise students, presents various learning formats for students, and acts as a universal technology platform to orchestrate the entire classroom.

One challenge we faced was brainstorming a solution that interconnected both the students and teachers. We needed a way for seamless communication to occur through our software.

We learned about design thinking and how to prototype a design. We also learned to use the software Figma and practiced our skills making a presentation in Powerpoint.

We think a leading software company may be interested in our ideas. We are hoping to share our solution with a Microsoft Education team.
