A website women's strengths are showcased. Whether this they inspire others, find new discovers or just a simple act of kindness. This is a album of images for all the she/hers out there.

Inspiration

We wanted to have one place where people can find women around there work who bring joy, creativity and power to the world. This is a gallery of women who inspire us and bring us joy. This was going to be similar to instagram in terms of how we can view each woman. Then we wanted a short profile for each woman so that people can see how they inspire other people.

What it does

This is a site where people can create profiles for women who they find inspirational or to showcase how amazing women are. It additionally allows people to learn more about different women in different areas who others find amazing.

How we built it

We uesd HTML, CSS and Javascript for front end, including Bootstrap as framework, and we attempted to work on backend with NodeJs and rendering the data collected from the form.

Challenges we ran into

We had many ideas however we were not sure of whether or not we could implement them in time. But we do wish to add these ideas in the future. There were also a few issues with ensuring that we have evereyone on the same page and that we didn't accidentally remove other's work when merging. Another issue was combining the backend and front end together.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to create a working form that allows us to add new profiles. The profiles can be read into more detail if we press on them. Additionally we have a website to showcase all these amazing and inspiring women.

What we learned

We learnt about how to communicate well in a team. Additionally not all of us were familiar with web development but we still managed to get a landing page, new profile forms and working profile pages.

What's next for A Beautiful Her

Continue to work on backend.

We wanted to add a sprite Image generators and implement image processing techniques to change the uploaded image to cartoon or more other styles, so the if the user doesn’t want to upload real person image they can decide whether to adjust their image upload.

Another addition would be a management system with admins, and implement AI face detection to ensure privacy and safety of the user and the people in the picture they uploaded, ensuring the upload image is legal and within the theme with backend admin check, and AI can detect whether there is a real person who isn’t famous online(e.g. having many google pictures already uploaded) and predict if there is any threats to their privacy.
