Inspiration
Like all my music videos, I was first inspired by the song. I knew I wanted to create something with a deep EDM, echo, ancestral sound. And so I initially started with writing the lyric "This is just a beat you can't hide, it's been waiting, for centuries, to be released" and from there, I started to imagine of what message could ancestors try to be telling us that applies to our current society and/or modern times and that it has been waiting to be released from it's hidden place.
So from here the story of the history of the USA came up in my mind and how this land was previously inhabited by indigenous Native Americans. This began the whole concept and drove me to remember what I once learned in school about how European immigrants came to America, betrayed native americans and then displaced them.
Naturally, at the same time, I couldn't help but relate the country's history with everything that has been happening around the United States of America and immigration in 2025. I needed to create a music video to remind and bring consciousness to an audience, about the history of this country, and that the vast majority of people living in the USA , or our ancestors, were immigrants who were previously given an opportunity or took it however they could to dream of a better life for themselves and their loved ones. This is also a dedication to immigrants today and how without them, America would not be able to sustain the privileged life many of us benefit from today.
How I built it
I built this music video first using Suno to make the song, Midjourney, Veo, kling to generate the images and the animation, Yapper for the lip syncing, Epidemic sounds for sound effects and Eleven Labs for the narration.
Challenges I ran into
I began creating this music video back at the end of June 2025 and during this time the lip syncing was not as thorough and perfected as it is now, so it took many different tools and attempts at getting the native american woman as the singer to be able to properly match the words with the pronounciation and without morphing or distortion in the image and video.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
I am proud of how the small viewers that have watched it have been able to resonate with it. I am also proud of it because it was an early song that organically had me are drawn to it by the music in the video and connect with it because of the truth and humanity of what the message is.
What I learned
I learned throughout this music video that making a scene/shot list or organize the story sequence through a storyboard is very important, because when visuals can't necessarily be explained it needs to have cohesion so that the viewer doesn't get lost in what is being shown. Throughout the creation, the storyline made sense in my head but not always to the viewer, so I had to iterate alot to either simplify or expand on what I wanted to show.
What's next for A Beat of Peace
A Beat of Peace is at the stage of being submitted to competitions to see how far it can go and find who it must reach.
