Inspiration

We noticed a need for Confluence users to manage and execute tests more conveniently. Our goal was to free users from managing tests in Excel and provide an efficient, Confluence-based test management tool. Additionally, this app operates independently without requiring integration with existing test tools, delivering a simple and accessible user experience.

What it does

Test Perspective for Confluence allows users to create, execute, and manage test cases directly within Confluence pages. It can also be used as documentation, supporting seamless test process management within teams.

How we built it

We used various Forge storage options to securely store users' test data within Confluence.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was ensuring that users’ test data could be securely contained within Confluence while using Forge. Selecting the right storage method and implementing it effectively was a significant hurdle, but we successfully utilized Forge’s capabilities to make it work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of achieving an intuitive interface that any Confluence user can use immediately, along with a design that blends seamlessly into Confluence pages. Leveraging Forge’s storage capabilities to manage user data securely was another key accomplishment.

What we learned

We gained a lot of insight into using storage and APIs within Forge for application development. We also learned the importance of designing a simple test management UI tailored to Confluence users' needs.

What's next for Test Perspective for Confluence

Future plans include implementing AI-powered automation for creating, editing, and executing test cases, as well as developing a test reporting feature that visualizes the progression of test results.
