Inspiration Traditional analytics tools focus on metrics, but often ignore the architecture of systems — how flows, losses, and feedback loops shape long-term resilience. I wanted to explore how systems can be understood not just through numbers, but through their structural behavior.
What it does
System Architecture Autonomy Explorer introduces a semantic modeling layer on top of Tableau. It represents systems as structured flows (nodes and relationships), computes autonomy and resilience metrics, and enables interactive what-if exploration directly in Tableau dashboards.

Challenges I ran into
One challenge was translating architectural concepts — such as feedback loops and autonomy — into Tableau’s semantic and calculation model without relying on external AI agents. Another challenge was designing interactions that remain intuitive while representing complex system behavior.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a reusable semantic architecture layer for Tableau Enabled interactive what-if simulations on system autonomy Transformed abstract system theory into actionable analytics Created a dashboard that explains why a system behaves the way it does
What I learned
I learned that Tableau’s semantic layer is powerful enough to support higher-level system reasoning — not just visualization. By modeling structure instead of raw data alone, analytics can become a tool for architectural thinking.
What's next for System Architecture Autonomy Explorer
Future work includes deeper feedback modeling, time-based autonomy analysis, and tighter integration with agent-based reasoning and AI-assisted interpretation.
