Inspiration The MyFilm48 competition format itself inspired us - creating a film within a strict time limit. We decided to make a meta-comedy about shooting a film in Bali in 96 hours, where the reality of the competition intertwines with fiction. Classic 60s romantic comedies and French cinema influenced our visual style. What it does The trailer tells the story of a struggling director who must shoot a film in Bali within 96 hours with a mobster's spoiled daughter to save his own life. A comedy of errors transforms into genuine love, and a failed production becomes an unexpected victory. How we built it We used AI video generation (Sora2/Veo3 + Capcut) with detailed prompts for each 4-8 second scene. Created fixed character descriptions for consistency. Challenges we ran into The main challenge was maintaining consistent character faces across scenes. We solved this through hyper-detailed descriptions and reference portrait generation. Balancing comedy and romance required precise timing for each clip. Accomplishments that we're proud of Created a complete story with character arcs. Combined three genres: comedy, romance, and meta-cinema. Each character transforms from stereotype to real person with genuine emotions. What we learned AI generation requires not just prompts but a director's vision for every frame. Consistency matters more than individual beautiful shots. Humor and emotions translate through visual gags and editing dynamics. What's next for 96 Hours in BALI A feature-length version with expanded character arcs. Sequel "48 Hours in Paris" where Jacques shoots his own film. Creating a prompt library for consistent character generation in longer projects. Exploring how AI can capture the magic of unscripted moments in scripted narratives.
