8x8 Venture Operator is a human-controlled, Gemini-powered operating workspace for solo founders and micro-businesses. One person often has to act like an entire operating team: researching a market, structuring work, drafting content, checking evidence, tracking usage, and deciding what may safely happen next. Venture Operator converts an objective into bounded AI-assisted workflows with tenant isolation, policy gates, usage metering, and auditable receipts.

The competition implementation was created as a clean-room project during the hackathon. Broader ©️8x8 by FlashTM8 ⚡️🌎🤖 branding, One-Fabric concepts, and historical infrastructure pre-date the competition and are disclosed as pre-existing resources rather than represented as new XPRIZE work.

Gemini is the runtime model path for bounded operator workflows. A deployed Gemini canary returned HTTP 200 using gemini-3.6-flash. The current judge surface is deployed on Render; its public health and documentation endpoints are reachable, while the protected Gemini canary rejects unauthenticated execution as designed. Consequential external actions remain deny-by-default.

Humans retain authority over consequential actions, account permissions, production promotion, payments, and other external effects. AI can interpret objectives, produce structured workflow plans and recommendations, transform bounded inputs, assist with evidence synthesis, and emit usage/receipt data. This architecture gives a solo founder operational leverage without silently transferring account ownership to an autonomous model.

The business model being tested is an optional $29 launch/pilot service and an $8.88/month software subscription concept. Attributable competition revenue is $0 and there are no claimed arms-length paying customers. The submitted P&L therefore reports zero revenue and the directly evidenced project-period AI/development/hosting expenses used for the clean-room project. No unrelated income is relabeled as Venture Operator revenue.

Impact is measured through verifiable operating outputs rather than unsupported market claims: workflow completion, time and provider usage per workflow, policy-denial behavior, receipt completeness, tenant-isolation tests, onboarding and activation, eventual paying conversion/retention, and user-reported time saved. The short-term hypothesis is that bounded AI operations reduce the coordination burden on solo founders; the long-term outcome would be enabling more people to start and operate small businesses with a smaller administrative burden.

The public 173-second demo is available on YouTube. Generated/cinematic visualizations are labeled rather than presented as live telemetry. Judges can also inspect the live staging surface, documentation, competition repository, and supporting execution evidence.
