Inspiration

Text editing is done daily, and eventhough ai chats are already a huge tool, I was missing having editing capabilities directly integrated in my editor. Together with this, extracting texts from documents and videos was always a slow process, sometimes hard to do, this was also one of the key points

What it does

7exts is a powerful editor with enhanced ai capabilities that allow to: Chat with your document and easily ask for changes or new sections based on context. Select text to edit, improve or change with ai help. Transcribe youtube videos easily. Extract text from any kind of pdf. Powerful summaries with big context.

How we built it

We started with some basic text editor inspiration and built around them. Integrated ai when necessary without making it overhouling. We worked mainly inside bolt.dev but also leveraged other tools when necessary.

Challenges we ran into

Getting IDE like interactions into this editor was not that easy. Our first iterations felt too cluttered for non tech people, so getting it ready for the general public was rough

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overall, this feels like a good project that will bring value to people that need some study companion, writing help or any kind of text editing with a new interface and tools.

What we learned

Using AI to modify elements other than only giving back text was one of the top learning parts.

What's next for 7exts

We will continue to iterate it as needed.
