Inspiration
Balancing simplicity with feature depth was a major challenge. I wanted the app to feel lightweight but still provide enough coaching and feedback to keep users engaged. Getting the progress ring animation to sync smoothly with real-time updates was also tricky, especially when switching protocols or resuming paused fasts.
Implementing zone-based motivational logic required carefully structuring the fasting phases and triggers — all done without relying on any cloud-based AI or back-end server.
What We Learned
Using Bolt, I discovered how quickly an entire app can come together with the right AI prompts and structure. It allowed me to move from idea to prototype to functional product in a fraction of the normal time. I also learned how impactful simple, well-timed feedback can be in helping users stick to challenging habits like extended fasting.

Update:
This project was prototyped and built as a full web app entirely in Bolt, using natural language prompts to generate the UI, logic, and structure.
The mobile version is currently being finalized in Windsurf, where platform-specific features like deployment, native modules, and Expo-based packaging are being prepared.
Bolt was essential for rapid development, while Windsurf allowed for production-ready mobile deployment.
