Inspiration
Language evolves fast. One day you’re “doing well,” the next you’re “absolutely cooking.” We wanted to build something playful that bridges that gap — a tool that turns plain, textbook English into modern, internet-ready slang. 67 Lingo was born from the idea that communication should feel fun, expressive, and current — not stuck in 2012.
What it does
67 Lingo takes simple, formal, or “boring” sentences and transforms them into punchy, modern slang.
You type a short phrase → hit convert → get a cooler, more Gen-Z-coded version.
It’s fast, lightweight, and designed for short, high-impact text (captions, chats, jokes, bios, etc.).
How we built it
- Built as a lightweight web app with a minimal UI for instant interaction.
- Deployed on Vercel for fast global hosting.
- Implemented a simple input-output interface with responsive styling.
- Integrated AI-powered text transformation logic to generate slang dynamically.
The goal was speed, simplicity, and zero friction.
Challenges we ran into
- Getting slang output that feels natural instead of forced.
- Preventing overly long or awkward responses.
- Balancing humor with readability.
- Fine-tuning prompts to consistently generate short, high-quality results.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Clean, distraction-free UI focused on one core feature.
- Fast deployment and reliable performance.
- A simple but instantly understandable concept.
- Turning an idea into a live public product quickly.
What we learned
- Simplicity wins. One clear feature is better than many average ones.
- Prompt engineering has a huge impact on output quality.
- UX clarity shapes how users judge AI intelligence.
- Shipping fast and iterating beats over-planning.
What’s next for 67 Lingo
- Multiple slang modes (Gen Z, corporate meme, gamer mode, etc.).
- Tone controls (chaotic ↔ classy).
- Copy-to-clipboard and sharing features.
- Mobile-first improvements.
- Usage analytics to understand popular transformations.
- Potential browser extension or chat integrations.
