Inspiration
Lack of layers of sensibility in VR controllers.
What it does
It is an adaptive device that enhances the controller with a folding layers mechanisms adapting to the shapes displayed in the image.
How I built it
We first decided to set a mechanism suitable for representing several objects, that is the folding steps. Then we attached servo motors to create the joins. And through C sharp we connected the Arduino Mega to the VR-containing computer.
Challenges I ran into
The most difficult challenge we ran into, was the synchronization from needed by the computer and the Arduino Controlled device to function properly. Also using Unity as an engine was a new experience for us.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We managed to create a contraption that could represent functionally the vision that we had from the first moment we arrived to the competition.
What I learned
We learned that time management and trusting other teammates equals to the perfect formula for achieving projects that would seem overwhelming to one individual.
What's next for 67-Dynamic Logical Control
If we find a source of income for developing this apparatus we could partner with another company to further develop it with better and lighter materials.
