The best (and cheapest) labor force that can be used to detect and report “robocalls” is the annoyed recipients of these calls. The “*666” solution leverages “crowdsourcing” to quickly and effectively report instances of robocalls by allowing those recipients to simply and immediately report an instance of such a call to their service provider. An fairly simple infrastructure would need to be put in place for all providers to collaboratively manage and effectively block future calls. Fairly trivial algorithms would allow for complete automation of the entire infrastructure.
