Inspiration
I've used a weekly goals technique for the last decade and swear by it. I wanted to share the technique of compressing my work day to achieve 5 hours of great work every work day by trying to stay focussed on your weekly goals while not losing track of requests from work mates. I got inspiration from Excalidraw that a free offline tool could really thrive.
What it does
5hours is a personal performance tracking tool which helps you manage weekly goals, daily tasks & backlogs in a way that is fun and easy to use.
How I built it
Around 5 hours of very focussed vibe coding in Bolt.new followed by polish and enhancements using Windsurf. I used a Supabase edge function for uploading scanned images to openAI and converting to a JSON list. The app requires no sign up, the data is stored locally in a browser database.
Challenges I ran into
It was pretty smooth sailing!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I landed on a core set of features that really make a difference. I can't not use 5hours everyday!
What I learned
Vibe coding is awesome. I'm 10x more productive. Even if there is a wrong step, AI is pretty awesome at working things out with a few gentle nudges.
What's next for 5hours
I'd love to get lots of people using it and develop a premium paying version.
