Idea of basic SD-WAN

Inspiration

What it does

Simulated SD-WAN solution from A server to B server using 3GPP EPC Authentication method.

Challenges we ran into

Simulated UE and Simulated eNB or gNB causes too much overhead.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Without Simulated UE or Simulated eNB or gNB, only with IXIA load script(Ixload by Ixia AWS Application), Non Access Stratum Attach can be possible to vEPC(SRSEPC) running on AWS Lightsail server and IP connectivity can be made from A server to B server.

What we learned

Simulated UE and Simulated gNB and eNB using srsLTE and srsEPC can generate IQ data using ZeroMQ application which can be more secured, However, it causes too much overhead and need optimization.

Test was done on AWS Lightsail server. Thanks to 100 USD voucher to AWS supported by Devpost

What's next for 5G VPN enterprise solution.

Making IMSI International Mobile Subscriber Identity driven IP network instead of IEEE MAC Address. Eventually, All the device (Smartphone, Laptop, IoT Devices will be USIM and ISIM and eSIM or even biometric driven IMSI to connect any network.) "Biometric encrypted IMSI" -3GPP authentication driven by phone number is more "user trusted" than just IEEE authentication. I sense there will be more laptops will be made with LTE/5G module and Authentication and Enterprise VPN solution like this will help many companies.
