As college students, we often find ourselves wanting to get off campus, but with either no means of doing so or no people to do it with. Furthermore, a solo day trip to the beach brings its own financial and sustainability implications. So we decided to come up with a solution that not only provides a more financially and environmentally sustainable option to leave campus, but also provides the opportunity to meet new people.
On our app, you can explore other people's planned trips and message the person if you're interested in joining. You can also plan your own trips that are open for people to join. Whether you're going to the airport or Joshua Tree, you can post your trip and wait for people to tag along.
Our main struggle came with learning how to use of Figma. However, we were eventually able to design multiple frames of our app using Figma.
In the future, we'd love to work on developing the back-end of Figma, and eventually have it running as a fully functional app that is used among the 5cs. There are safety concerns with the app, which is why it would be imperative to include a function to report if you are in danger with your group. This report function would contact your emergency contacts and send them your location.
