We participated in the Innovation Track and would like to be considered for best 5C hack, best beginner hack, and best multi-school hack. Our product aims to create good through spur innovation, collaboration, and discussion. Our MVP is an interactive Figma mockup with our envisioned website interface; in the future, we look forward to developing and deploying in real life. Ethics-wise, we intentionally left out resume drops and other competition-promoting systems so students can more authentically assess project-partner fit. Us three will also act as platform moderators—approving postings—to ensure nothing inappropriate is disseminated, and a 5C SSO login will be required for all posts.
On college campuses, it’s difficult to connect with students of different skill sets (engineers, creatives, marketers, PMs, etc.) to collaborate on projects of shared interest. All three of us have found this especially true at the Claremont Colleges, which is unfortunate given there are students with different skill sets and shared visions for innovative projects, clubs, and startups (currently, everything is done through word of mouth). We are creating this product to build an infrastructure to facilitate the gathering of 5C students through an easy-to-navigate platform where students can post events and ideas for clubs and projects.
As visualized in our Figma wireframe, users enter a homepage featuring popular, traction-gaining, and recommended projects based on their profile. Users are able to attach their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, which our AI model will scrape to help recommend projects of interest. Tabs for events, projects, clubs, and favorites are thumbnailed on the left. When each card is flipped, a detailed description and contact information appears. We will also connect the APIs of Google Calendar to ease calendar visualization for events and DocSend to create an instant NDA-signing feature for those who request it (particularly applicable for startup ideas).
