Inspiration
Decided to built something useful at the same time for both types of people during valentines day. Cuz we shouldn't forget people who are single lol :D . So I thought of building a music reactive led lights using an Arduino which will make a perfect gift also.
What it does
Our hardware has an RGB LED which changes its colors according to the sound captured by the sound sensor. So you can set music depending upon your mood and the Lights will automatically change according to the music. You can use the same principle with an LED strip which will make it more cool. I didn't have an LED Strip with me so I used an RGB LED
How I built it
I used an arduino with a Grove sound sensor and an RGB LED. Used the readings from the sound sensor to fix a threshold value and if the sound goes above the threshold value the color of the LED is changed randomly thereby producing the looks of a music reactive mood light.
Challenges I ran into
- Wiring the was a bit difficult
- Connections on the breadboard
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- Was able to complete as planned
- Hooked up all the jumper wires to create a long wire lol ;)
What we learned
- Interfacing a sound sensor with an arduino
- Using a 4 pin RGB LED
What's next for 50 Shades of Light
- Using LED Strips
- Mobile app to control the color
