Inspiration
Inspired by the daily student struggle of procrastination, 5 more minutes is a website designed to keep you unproductive, saying to yourself time and time again, just five more minutes!
What it does
Like any normal productivity app, you can set a timer for how long you need to work before taking a break, or add what tasks need to be done and by what time. The difference is, this webapp will try its hardest to not let you work. When you try to start the timer or make a task, the webapp will redirect you to sites such as Instagram or Youtube, and sometimes when you try to get the timer to start, it will automatically put no more than ten seconds on the clock.
How we built it
We split the group work up into making the shell of webapp, making the distractions and making the functionality of the webapp like the timer and task maker. We then combined the three parts together and fixed any issues together
Challenges we ran into
We have never done a project like this before with multiple parts, which lead to an unfair split of work and the steps we took to make the project were much more difficult than needed to be.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have a finished product, even if changes could be made to improve our web app.
What we learned
We learned how to work with other developers to create a project, and we learned a lot about web development like how to add functionality to a website.
What's next for 5 More Minutes!
We want to work on this project a bit more, making it look cleaner, adding more distractions and even making it a better productivity app for when you get unlucky enough for it to work.
