4ThePPL is a mobile web app with the aim of driving big conversations to real-world social action.

Inspiration

Our main inspiration for this app was to create a platform for anyone to raise awareness for different topics that they're passionate about. We also want to give our users the freedom to make a post about anything they are interested in, without the limitation of censorship or pushbacks from the app itself.

The current platforms have heavy policing of user-submitted posts and there's been evidence of sites like Instagram and Twitter removing posts trying to raise awareness for the BLM movement and Asian hate crime, to name a few. Additionally, we are also aware of the increasing number of fake news getting posted all over these platforms. Not only these irrelevant fake news are annoying, however, they can also severely harm their users if they were to believe the information getting spread.

Our app hopes to change this by having the main focus and functionality of raising awareness and allowing people to share their stories and support what they're interested in.
