Inspiration

The inspiration behind our food distribution project stems from a shared commitment to combating food insecurity and waste in our communities. Witnessing the staggering amount of edible food discarded by restaurants, supermarkets, and households, we were driven to create a transformative solution. Inspired by the potential of technology to bridge gaps and connect resources, we aim to develop an innovative platform that seamlessly links surplus food providers with local organizations in need. Our vision is to empower individuals and businesses to make a meaningful impact by efficiently redirecting excess food to those who require it most, fostering a more sustainable and compassionate food distribution system for a brighter future.

What it does

There are many apps which deal with leftover foods from restaurants and these apps provide the food to people at low rates than the usual. Our website will provide the food to those in need and can not afford to spend a single penny on it, without them having to pay for it. Our website will provide a link between restaurants, banquet halls, etc and the organizations or NGOs that work for poor or slum area people.

How we built it

We built the website for our food distribution project using a combination of front-end and back-end technologies. For the front-end, we used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create the user interface and design. We focused on a clean and user-friendly layout to ensure a seamless experience for both food donors and recipients.

Challenges we ran into

During our hackathon, we encountered several challenges that tested our problem-solving skills and teamwork. Additionally, designing an intuitive user interface proved to be trickier than anticipated, as we had to strike a balance between simplicity and functionality. Collaborating remotely also posed communication challenges, leading us to adopt new tools and strategies to stay connected and aligned

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We've created a user friendly webpage with simplicity and better functionality.

What we learned

  1. Teamwork and collaboration
  2. Time management
  3. Problem solving
  4. Creativity and innovation ## What's next for 485_OdeToCode We believe that development is a continuous process which has no end. We plan to gather feedback from potential users and stakeholders to further enhance the app's features and usability. Our goal is to transition from a hackathon prototype to a fully functional and impactful solution that addresses food waste and insecurity on a broader scale, making a positive difference in our communities.
