Inspiration

I was inspired by nature photography and the peace that comes along with both being in nature and looking at photos of it. I think bringing a sense of peace to the user is great when educating them so that they are able to better process and appreciate the knowledge you are presenting.

What it does

This site organizes sustainability tips into 4 categories, the 4 seasons, of your year here on Earth! Upon clicking on any given season, the user is taken to that site and can read the list of tips there.

How we built it

This was designed in Figma.

Challenges we ran into

This was my first time ever using Figma or designing a prototype, so I had a lot of difficulty learning the tools on a time constraint. However, in the end I believe it was the time constraint that really pushed my learning experience to another level.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am happy I was able to familiarize myself with Figma's basic tools and be able to use them to create a project that I can test and edit. At first I was nervous about working solo, but I am happy I challenged myself to be independent in using the application for the first time.

What we learned

I learned that planning is the most important thing in any design--without it, you'll often get caught up in the little details and get carried away. I know now that the most detailed sketches yield the most effective results.

What's next for 4 Seasons of Sustainable Living

I hope to continue to expand my desktop application, even beyond this design-a-thon. I want to continue learning everything that Figma has to offer and eventually become ready for an internship in UX/UI design!
