Inspiration

Wanted to make a scene with elements that represented the area in a creative way to spark curiosity to learn more about the place, rather than use what is already there.

What it does

Takes you through the scene of the planets in Stonehenge, after this you can explore yourself.

How we built it

Adding 3D objects to the scene which were defined, custom markers on the same areas and adding a flyover all using the 3D Maps features.

Challenges

It was difficult to get the 3D models to where I wanted, I decided on using google maps as a coordinate reference which worked well, then shifted the coordinates in small amounts.

There were challenges with the flyover optimising the heights and start and end position, took time to figure out where to start and adjustment.

There was a need to keep the project visually not too overwhelming so you could keep your focus on the planets.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Intergrated the 3D objects into the scene in a fun way to spark curiousity

What we learned

  • Flyover, custom markers, 3D objects, setting the map up

What's next for 3D Stonehenge Planets Visualisation

Intergrating more visuals and information
