Inspiration
We have enjoyed listening to Deadmau5 music for many years and it was a great pleasure to participate in this particular project on Matabuild hackathon. Mintbase and 3XR provided us with a great opportunity to practice 3D skills and new ways of working around some issues in Blender and Unity.
What it does
This 3d Space was created to support and celebrate the 1M token Deadmau5 and Portugal. The Man launch at Mintbase
How I built it
This space was built mainly using Blender. Unity was used for early concept build, and application of neon lighting to borderlines and artist names. 3ds max was also used.
Challenges I ran into
First thoughts were around how to organize space that would highlight and represent both artists. Have come to a conclusion it would make sense to display names of Deadmau5 and Portugal. The Man opposite each other in the Gallery's space. Have had some some issues with minting a model on both Mintbase and 3XR, most times the model wouldn't display as a 3d model but an image only, worked around it by viewing on Edge browser which eventually worked. The model finally was ready to view from the outside and inside after a few dozen mint tests.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of and what I learned
The model works as expected, while building the space we were able to pick up new skills such as baking lighting into textures and others which will be useful in future projects.
What's next for 3D space
We hope that the space will be enjoyed by those who visit it.
