Inspiration

Juice(Saft) tastes better in the virtual world and 3D models of the workplace would feel even better.

What it does

The 3D Twin of an automobile manufacturing facility that we created to encourage industrialists to bring their factories to the digital platform for Creates a digital 3D model of an industrial setup and gives the ability for visualization of altering and improving the industrial setup. Provides the chance to experience and interact with the new(idealized) state of the facility in real-time allowing the opportunity to make limitless changes to the design for optimization.

How we built it

The 3D Twin of an automobile facility is built using 2 3D visualization tools, namely Unity and Blender. Individual models were built on the softwares and then brought together on Unity. We also took pre-existing models from the internet to reduce the time to create the 3D models. We also built an avatar by first creating a capsule and connecting scripts to it that allows the avatar to move across the 3d model that moves through the 3D model

Challenges we ran into

Unity was a new software that we had to familiarize ourselves with before starting our 3D model. We overcame the learning curve by dividing tasks so every member learns particular aspects of the software to accelerate project completion. Another challenge was to create the first-person view Avatar which interacts with the 3D environment that we created. Eventually, we were successful in creating a functional Avatar after many revisions and trials.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of ourselves for successfully creating and functional and interactable 3D model like we had expected. Even though there is much room for improvement, we have created a functional protoype which clearly portrays our ideology and plan.

What we learned

The greatest takeaway was to improve our learning skills to adapt to new software in a short period of time. This skill is greatly needed by software engineers and designers to keep their skills up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in the industry

What's next for 3d-Saft

We are excited and motivated to further improve the project by learning how to simulate the 3D. This allows us to run Big data to fulfill the objective of 3zD twins is delivering real time simulations and examination of changes to the environment based on factors such as output time and cost.
