Inspiration

We were inspired by the detail of engineering and design of creating double decker trains and wondered how they were designed and how they could fit so many passengers.

What it does

It is a 3D model of a bi-level train.

How we built it

We first thought of ideas and what to implement into the design. Then we measured and sketched it on paper Lastly we translated it into a 3D model of a train

Challenges we ran into

Thinking of ways to make it more compact allowing more passenger and how to get the train into certain gauges (tunnels)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A simple solution was folding chairs whilst another was areas where standing passengers could lean on. Another was the air suspensions to raise and lower the train slightly for the platform and for certain gauges.
