Inspiration

Since the beginning, our goal was to create something that brings a persons imagination into reality. What better way to do it than to create platform that 3D Prints your inspirations and ships it to you. 3D printing has the potential to change the way we design and manufacture products, making it possible to create customized, one-of-a-kind items at a fraction of the cost of traditional manufacturing methods. A 3D printing website could play a role in driving this change by making it easy for designers and manufacturers to access the technology and use it in their work.

What it does

Our website navigates like any other E-commerce website but the main difference you will find is that, when you redirect to our cart, you can upload a CAD file with your custom design. This design is evaluated and assessed according to the dimensions and materials used and a cost is estimated. Once you give us your login/registration details, your product is ready to be created and shipped to your doorstep.

How we built it

HTML, CSS and JavaScript were our base languages, but we also incorporated a bit of handlebars. The main page consists of:

  1. Home
  2. About
  3. Products
  4. Reviews
  5. Contact Apart from that we also have two icons which redirect to cart and login page.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, we made our login page using react js and the rest of our pages using html. We couldn't find a solution to link those pages together so we decided to recreate the login page using html. Other than that we struggled a lot with committing a large size of files to GitHub.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was the first Hackathon for all our members, and we are very proud of everything we were able to create in the span of just two days. All the members put in a lot of effort for this project and we are very proud to present it to everyone.

What we learned

We learned about web development, user experience design, search engine optimization, digital marketing, and best practices for ecommerce. I also gained project management experience, as well as a grasp of the whole process of developing and delivering a digital product.

What's next for 3D-i-print

3D printing can be a fun and rewarding hobby, but it can also be a bit isolating without a community of other enthusiasts to share ideas and knowledge with. We would love to provide a platform for people to connect, share their designs, and collaborate on projects. This is only our vision for the near future. As this project starts working according to to its full potential we will surely bring more innovative and exciting updates.
