[38] - Signum

Android app meant to send user condition (safe, in danger) in precarious situations (natural disasters).

  • Lack of response of team member's aunt during Mexico earthquake

What it does

  • Sends preconfigured messages through FB chat to select contacts

How we built it

  • Back end (python + flask + firebase) + Front end (java + android studio)

Challenges we ran into

  • Setting heroku server with firebase, encryption

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Sending automated messages through FB chat

What we learned

  • Use several of the aforementioned technologies

What's next for [38] - Signum

  • Adding additional support for iOS, additional features (geolocation, etc.)
