Inspiration
There are people which should stay at home during the Corona pandemic but still need groceries.
What it does
People who need a shopping service can post a shopping request, containing information such as the delivery address, a maximum price, optionally a tip, and of course the list of desired items. People who want to help can browse shopping requests in their vicinity and decide to accept them.
How we built it
We used Swift to develop an iOS app, and Django to create a REST API for the back-end.
Challenges we ran into
Debugging code 20 minutes before video submission deadline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A running prototype! Having actual back-end code (faking a front-end is easy). And the fact that the app might be useful even in times without a pandemic.
What we learned
How to use the Django REST Framework, and how to consume ungodly amounts of caffeine in one weekend.
