Inspiration

Our project was inspired by the impact meme pages have on the internet. With our Meme Bot we can easily post funny memes to make twitter users laugh.

What it does

The 30MinuteMemeBot is a meme bot coded solely in the Python coding language. To operate the 30MinuteMemeBot, users just need to insert their favorite memes into the meme pool and every 30 minutes one of their favorite memes will be posted to the twitter website. Our bot also replies to users when they follow the page with their own personal meme.

How we built it

The 30MinuteMemeBot was created using Python, a couple APIs and libraries.

Challenges we ran into

While creating the 30MinuteMemeBot a challenge we ran into was trying to create the reply under a tweet when we get mentioned. To fix this problem we needed to add another parameter.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our most proud accomplishments during this project were learning about twitter api’s and learning how to work with python libraries. We can apply our knowledge about twitter api’s with other social media api’s and with our python library knowledge we can learn to code different types of programs.

What we learned

We learned more about Python coding, libraries, and apis.

What's next for 30MinuteMemeBot

The next thing for the 30MinuteMemeBot is to have it create more personal memes. Eventually selling the MemeBot on its own website is a long term aspiration. Our bot is also very versatile. It can be used for memes but also it can be used for people that want to post on social media, but they are busy.
