Inspiration:

Using the power of technology and personal empowerment, 2nd Thought offers a comprehensive and personalized approach to rehabilitation. Our app combines motivational messaging, gamification, and tailored advice to help users regain control over their lives.

What it does

2nd Thought is designed to support individuals in their journey to recovery from gambling addiction (or other addictions which we will scale later). It provides personalized motivational content, interactive quizzes, and gamified experiences to keep users engaged and motivated. The app also offers various support personalities and access to a wealth of research and extra information about addiction.

How we built it: Tech Stack:

MERN Stack: MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js. React Native: For the entire project. IDE: Visual Studio Code. Node.js: Executes JavaScript code in a cross-platform environment, handling backend tasks like a server. Express.js: Connects to the database, creating API calls and managing backend operations. MongoDB: Serves as the primary database.

Challenges we ran into:

We faced significant time constraints and encountered time management issues. Additionally, many team members were unfamiliar with integrating the backend and frontend, especially with the variety of coding languages we used.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

based on the info on our app can you make this written part better: ## Inspiration: Using the power of technology and personal empowerment, Recovery Path offers a comprehensive and personalized approach to rehabilitation. Our app combines motivational messaging, gamification, and tailored advice to help users regain control over their lives. ## What it does ## How we built it: Tech Stack: MERN stack (mongo, express, react, node) react native whole project IDE: VScode node.js - for javascript code onto cross platform environment (handles backend like a server) Expressjs - it takes the database into API calls AND directly connects to database (handles backend like a server) graphQL - to connect with entire backend (node and express) Query language mongoDB - actual database ## Challenges we ran into: We were very short on time and ran into time management issues as well as most of our members not knowing how to connect backend and frontend since we used a variety of coding languages. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of: We are really proud of just working through this, we weren't even going to even make a video however, we thought we would! Just because we could. ## What we learned We can do a lot of good coding work, but it will just take some time. ## What's next for 2nd Thought Sure, here's an improved version of your written part, maintaining all the essential details while enhancing the flow and readability:

React Native: For the entire project.

IDE: Visual Studio Code.

Node.js: Executes JavaScript code in a cross-platform environment, handling backend tasks like a server.

Express.js: Connects to the database, creating API calls and managing backend operations.

GraphQL: Facilitates querying and connecting the backend (Node and Express).

MongoDB: Serves as the primary database.

Challenges We Ran Into: We faced significant time constraints and encountered time management issues. Additionally, many team members were unfamiliar with integrating the backend and frontend, especially with the variety of coding languages we used.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of: We're incredibly proud of our perseverance and teamwork. Despite the challenges, we managed to push through and even create a video to showcase our project, which we initially thought we wouldn't have time for.

What we learned

This project demonstrated our capability to produce high-quality coding work when provided with the necessary time and resources. We gained invaluable experience in collaboration and problem-solving within a diverse team, teaching us the importance of perseverance. The long hours and dedication required to meet our goals allowed us to discover our inner potential and strengthen our resolve.

We acquired substantial knowledge in cross-platform development and full-stack development. This was our first time developing an app connected to a mobile application, and we did our best to integrate all components seamlessly. Additionally, we refreshed our understanding of using API keys, enhancing our technical proficiency.

What's next for 2nd Thought

Looking ahead, we aim to continue improving and expanding 2nd Thought. Our goals include incorporating more personalized features, enhancing the user interface, and integrating additional support for various addictions through the next few weeks. We are committed to making 2nd Thought a valuable tool for anyone seeking to overcome addiction and build a healthier, happier future as well as use it for ourselves maybe in the future!
