What it does
A simple 2D platformer game with zero story element, where the player has to bring the "candies" to the full moon, while "defeating" or dodging the enemies along the way, who may / may not drop buffs / weapons.
How we built it
Built using Godot game engine, with git for version control.
Challenges we ran into
Both of us have little to no game development experience, so we have to learn throughout the way through tutorials & documentations. A lot of time has been wasted on debugging.
We couldn't get along with git well, and we have lost our hard work for multiple times when resolving merge conflicts, as godot doesn't provide any features for resolving merge conflicts (e.g. scene configurations).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are able to make a working "game" at the end.
What we learned
We have learnt how to develop a simple 2D game using the Godot game engine.
What's next for 2D Vertical Halloween-styled Platformer
There is still a long list of exciting features that we couldn't complete in time. We will continue working on it and actually produce a complete & playable game in the future.
