Inspiration
In developing countries, There are two main problems, namely starvation and lack of cleanliness, so we want to try to address both problems with one system using technology.
What it does
This is an IoT-based system that will accept garbage from beggars as input and then give them a token in return which they can give at a pre-defined location to get food or clothing. hence solving both problems of starvation and cleanliness
How we built it
We have used a NodeMCU Development board as the main compute unit for this project as it has built-in wifi and then used IR Sensor for Garbage detection and an Ultrasonic sensor to detect the status of the garbage bin. We have also used the Blynk Cloud Platform to connect this system with the cloud for data collection.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges regarding the compatibility of sensors with the development board as well as some data transmission and data accuracy issues with the cloud platform. but we were able to solve all of them by teaming up.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that within 24 hours, We were able to come up with a great idea, implement it, code it and also have a fully functional and working prototype of the system.
What we learned
We learned a lot about team building, team coordination, and distributing the workload among the team through this hackathon. Any problem that we faced during the development of the project, we worked as a team, distributed the workload, and came up with the solutions.
What's next for 2BOS IoT System by The Falcons Team 80
We are going to implement Object Detection algorithms so that we can base the cost of the tokens based on the type of garbage put in the bin, like foresay glass bottles can have more cost than plastic ones. We also want to collect data from all the locations we implement this system and then give more help in the areas where there is more usage of our system and also there are more needy people. We want to Collaborate with various NGOs to help people in need and give back to the society.
