Inspiration

The inspiration behind our project, the Smart Energy Metering System, emerged from a collective aspiration to address the escalating concerns regarding energy consumption and its impact on the environment. Witnessing the challenges faced by individuals in managing their electricity usage, we aimed to create an innovative solution that could offer users greater control and awareness over their energy consumption.

What it does

Our Smart Energy Metering System introduces a user-controlled daily limit for energy consumption. When the daily limit is surpassed, users receive notifications via a mobile application, enhancing their consciousness of electricity usage. Moreover, in cases of exceeding the limit, our system utilizes machine learning algorithms to predict and recommend compensation measures, facilitating the balancing of energy consumption.

How we built it

We built our system through a combination of IoT principles, and user-friendly mobile application development. Leveraging sensors and data processing techniques, we enabled the identification and monitoring of individual device-specific energy consumption, offering users insights for informed decision-making on their electricity usage.

Challenges we ran into

Developing a comprehensive system that seamlessly integrated hardware, software, and machine learning components posed significant challenges. Ensuring real-time accuracy in data collection and processing, and maintaining a user-friendly interface were among the primary hurdles we encountered. Overcoming these challenges demanded iterative development and cohesive team collaboration.
