Inspiration

The inspiration for 24Finance struck when our team, the DataChicks, pondered over the ever-increasing complexity of the global financial landscape and the challenge individuals face in understanding how global events impact their investment decisions. We were intrigued by the idea of leveraging advanced AI techniques to bridge this gap, providing users with actionable insights into their investment portfolios in light of unfolding global events. The motivation to empower individuals with such knowledge fueled our journey throughout the development of 24Finance.

What it does

24Finance is a powerful tool that enables users to assess the impact of global events on their investment portfolios. Leveraging cutting-edge AI, the solution analyzes news from around the world and correlates them with individual investment holdings. By doing so, it provides users with a comprehensive understanding of how various events influence their financial assets. Through a user-friendly interface, individuals can explore summaries of relevant news, visualize the impact on their investments, and gain insights to make informed decisions.

How we built it

The foundation of 24Finance lies in the integration of diverse technologies and methodologies. We began by curating a rich dataset, incorporating both user portfolio data and global news events from the GDELT 1.0 Event Database. Utilizing Python, we developed a robust workflow in which the GenAI, powered by lemonfox.ai, emerged as a central component, facilitating the extraction of actionable insights from news articles. To ensure scalability and accessibility, we deployed the solution on Databricks and crafted a sleek Streamlit interface for intuitive user interaction.

What's next for 24Finance

As we look towards the future, our vision for 24Finance extends beyond its current capabilities. First, we aim to extend the solution to other financial instruments, allowing the portfolio to be complete and close to a real word scenario. We envision enhancing the platform with advanced analytics and predictive modelling, enabling users to anticipate market trends and optimize their investment strategies proactively. Additionally, we aim to incorporate real-time data feeds for up-to-the-minute insights.
