Inspiration
The goal is to complete in the closed project, the inspiration is to gain a better understanding of the world of robotics, learning how to problem solve and create a polished product.
What it does
As set out by the competition, we are working on the completing aspects of an autonomous vehicle, having to work through a maze, drop the flag into the center of the circle, and find a colour pattern.
How we built it
Using the sensor kit, we built the bot to be stable and reliable, all the code made was designed in a modular fashion, to have each sensor and actuator be its own module that can be called and moved around easily between the three challenges.
Challenges we ran into
Lack of experience, many of the group had their first exposure to robotics and Arduino for the first time this weekend and their was a large learning curve. The most productive work did not begin until the later half of the project due to this.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The group's resilience what was the most proud of, going in knowing nothing for most people, but we kept fighting and didn't give up until the last second.
What we learned
We learned techincal skills like circuit design, intro to robotics, coding on the arduino ide, and were able to attend many of the seminars to learn both hackathon related skills as well as industry related content.
