INSPIRATION: We decided to create an application that helps students determine what job is more fitted towards their personality based of a series of questions. With a focus on 90's aesthetic to make it more enjoyable and encourage participants to be more honest while also having some fun with the program.

WHAT IT DOES: This program builds an interactive GUI that works like Kahoot where you can pick between 4 answers that will pinpoint your personality. It gives 21 Retro 90's questions that range between funny and career focused and runs through a point algorithm to calculate between 8 personality types(Extrovert, Introvert, Hard-Working, Lofty, Science, Creative, Humanitarian, and Business). Taking the two most prominent personality types, we calculate using a type chart on what job fits you the best.

HOW WE BUILT IT: We don't have a lot of coding experience as a group, so we decided to build it in Python. This is fundamently supoorted by the Tkinter Library as well as extra graphics made in Aseprite. A majority of coding was done in Pycharm and a large amount of assistance came from ChatGPT. A lot of us didn't know how to code, so it was a very useful tool that helped us collaborate and get through this hackathon speedily.

CHALLENGES: We ran into challenges such as creating questions that could fit into personalities while also giving them 90's aesthetic. This is the first time working with the tkinter library so we had to work from the ground up on how to use it and learned as we went.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: We are very proud that we were able to complete this project. Only two of us have limited experience coding in Java, and one of us had almost no coding experience at all, so finishing this was an achievement in itself. In our code, we are proud that we were able to include a wide variety of possible jobs and created a full chart to make every option accessible. Additionally, the overall style of our code turned out even better than we imagined. Overall, this was a great experience.

WHAT WE LEARNED: How to effectively split up tasks to create a product under a time crunch. Through effective communication we were able to quickly produce a functional demo product showing what we could do to improve career development for people who may be unsure of what sort of career they may best be suited for.

WHAT'S NEXT?: In this iteration we were only able to print out one potential job, so we hope in the next one we can provide a list of potential jobs based on the multiple personality types. Adding onto that, we decide the career only by 2 personality types out of the 8, so potentially we could build a system that takes in all types and gives even more career options. We would also like the GUI to be even more customizable, because it was not up to our fullest potential and we would like it to be even more retro and interactive.
