All of us love news. But the problem is that

3. no News skill for Cryptocurrencies that fetches news articles from the crypto world.

What it does

1News simplifies that through Alexa with Machine Learning to solve the problems above. How ?

1. 1News saves time by reading out Summarized News Articles from the web. It also categorizes into 8 smart categories (Top, Entertainment, Technology, Business, Sports, Politics, Lifestyle, & Science) making it really easy to keep yourself updated with news without reading entire news articles.

2. The app fetches news articles from over 300 sources to keep the latest s

3. Fetches news articles & summarizes the Articles from the web. The skill can fetch news summaries from top cryptocurencies (Steem, Dogecoin, Nem, Dash, Monero, Neo, Iota, Stellar, Cardano Bitcoin Cash, Ripple, Litecoin, Ethereum & Bitcoin) just by uttering the crypto name.

How I built it

The Alexa skill app is built with Flask-Ask which is a Python library for building Alexa Skills. The summarization news feed algorithm is build with python and is hosted on a python app which the skills connect to.

Challenges I ran into

The challenge was to create a good conversational flow of the skill. The goal was to really make it easy for the user to interact with simple response phrases so that they can get news and and briefings in the quickest way.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of & Learnings

Proud of building my first Alexa skill and learning how to build VUIs. Simplicity and terseness is something that I leart to maintain in building this this type of application.

Get news by country. Would like to support local news from countries like USA, UK, INDIA & AUSTRALIA.
