Inspiration

The inspiration for this project was helping small business grow and have a sense of community. We also wanted to give a way for Good Neighbor Fund to track the progress of the companies they support.

What it does

Our app is designed to allow the companies to input there business metrics and track their growth. This information is also available to the Good Neighbor Fund which helps them to show their success and help to get more donations. We also added a functionality that lets the companies network together and talk about progress and share their data. Companies outside of the ones that have gotten grants to talk with the companies that have already been helped. This allows them to ask questions about the Good Neighbor Fund and lead to more companies wanting to be apart of the program

How we built it

We created mock user interfaces to show what the app could look like and show what type of information data analytics could show.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were making sure the app was inexpensive to create. We solved this by making sure it could integrate into programs that they are already using like slack, airtable, and zapier. Another problem we faced was creating a uniform way of taking data for the different type of companies. We solved this by creating a specialized form for each company that represents them properly.

Collaborating with a team of new people. Creating a viable solution under a time restraint.

What we learned

How to deduce a company's demand for improvement. How to solve a conflict with time and financial restraint. How to locate a problem and formulate a solution with a team.

What's next for Good Neighbors

Creating an automated data analysis platform to help other business create and have an organized data plots. This will help them analyze trends to make better decisions for the future of their business.
