1809 Capital Event Feedback Forms

We created feedback forms for both types of events we host. Coda AI will generate a summary based on all responses. If there is negative feedback, Coda AI will give us steps to improve.

Inspiration

1809 Capital regularly hosts Venture & Innovation Summits for Miami University (Ohio) alums and students interested in Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship. We also host LP Meetings every year. Since we plan events regularly, we wanted a quick and easy way to get feedback and read it from a glance. The solution was two event feedback forms, one for our Venture & Innovation Summits and one for our LP Meetings, and using Coda AI to summarize all responses.

What it does

After our event attendees fill out one of our feedback forms, Coda AI will summarize all responses automatically. We also built confirmation and marketing emails for the feedback forms inside the Coda doc.

How we built it

First, I created the Feedback forms and the questions we wanted to ask our event attendees. I made two tables directly connected to the forms to show responses. Then, I used Coda AI to summarize all reactions at the top of the page. Finally, I created confirmation emails for when event attendees send in their responses and marketing emails to past attendees to give feedback. We also posted the forms on our social media profiles.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge I ran into was using the Coda AI Summary. I had to tell Coda AI precisely what I wanted straightforwardly. I even had to tell Coda AI how to format the summary so it was easy for our team to read. It took a lot of trial and error until I got exactly what I wanted. I also had to refer to each question from each form to get the summary correct.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some event attendees filled out both forms! We got precious feedback for our future events.

What we learned

I learned that Coda AI could be powerful if you use it practically and are specific with your wishes. Coda AI saved us so much time, and we didn't have to read individual event responses.

What's next for 1809 Capital Event Feedback Forms

After the new few events and our LP meeting, we will modify the questions in the feedback forms and the summary to summarize every response.
