Inspiration

Sanjaya's divine sight in the Mahabharata, helping King Dhritarashtra "see" the battlefield, inspired our development of an app prototype for the blind. By providing real-time audio descriptions of their surroundings and objects, the app empowers the visually impaired to gain a deeper understanding of their environment, just as Sanjaya enabled Dhritarashtra to comprehend the events in Kurukshetra despite his blindness. Thus we named our Project as 'Sanjaya uvaach' meaning Sanjaya speaking.

What it does

Project Sanjaya uvacha is an initiative focused on improving the quality of life and opportunities for blind and the elderly. Blind and elderly can use this software built in hardware device like spects. This software has multiple features such as it detects objects, surroundings, dangers or obstacles around the user and also travel assistant by analyzing the busses or vehicles destination.

How we built it

We used various libraries and cloud pre trained models. We used django for server side and server connection. Azure cognitive service computer vision is used to proper detection and analysis of the objects. These pre trained models are using CNN and single stage and two stage detections.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into multiple issues such as :

  1. Getting proper keys from Azure for computervision .
  2. Django services employs multiple port urls which made it difficult to connect to the cloud servers
  3. Cloud servers employs a lot of load and data .
  4. Live Video analysis has become hell of an issue and still it works on the image analysis.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. Made a successful prototype of the software and works perfectly fine.
  2. The API integration works the best with the software

What we learned

We learned API integrations with cloud trained models.

What's next for 17_ENIGMA_SanjayaUvacha

Analysis of Live video feed is our final aim to integrate with the software. Continuous analysis of live feed will provide real time help to the users.
