Inspiration

We had a high interest in the newest facial recognition technology and believe it has a lot of potential impact for the future, taking important roles in safety, surveillance, education, labour and much more.

What it does

The project is able to identify faces both in images and real time cameras, and has high potential for further development recognizing in-depth characteristics visible from human faces.

How I built it

By the use of python programming and tools of Open CV and deep learning frameworks.

Challenges I ran into

Using the terminal to install all the modules and tools we required ended up as a large number of failures as well as understanding how the technology works.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Being able to work as a team and develop a project even though I didn't know any of my team mates before the event, as well as being perseverant enough to continue trying after many failed attempts.

What I learned

I learned about how Open CV technology works, the meaning and potential of deep learning, python skills I didn't have before, and working with a completely new team for a big project.
