Inspiration

We draw inspiration from existing platforms. YouTube and Twitter have built-in fact-checking systems that flag misleading content, keeping users informed. We also integrate cross-referencing capabilities, inspired by Snopes, a trusted fact-checking site.

What it does

CheckMate has Device-Wide Security Monitoring to track system activity, detect threats, inappropriate content, and privacy risks across major apps like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. It also has Automated Fact-Checking (AFC) which leverages AI-driven filtering to verify content in real-time, adapting to user preferences for personalized protection. Additionally, Control Center Integration ensures a seamless experience. With just a swipe, users can enable CheckMate for temporary or continuous monitoring—ensuring transparency without disruption.

Challenges we ran into

A major concern with real-time monitoring is privacy. Additionally, constant tracking could lead to information overload, making it difficult to process data effectively.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

Building an app is too hard

What's next for 14_CheckMate

Enhanced User Customization: We aim to provide more personalization options, allowing users to tailor the app to their specific needs.
Additional Features: We plan to include detailed explanations for fact-checks and multi-language support to improve accessibility. Strategic Partnerships: By collaborating with major news organizations, social media platforms, and government agencies, we can integrate CheckMate into existing workflows, making it a trusted tool for fact-checking and information verification at scale.
